In early 2024, Spotify removed the lyrics feature from users without Spotify Premium.

So I built this browser extension to allow users to view lyrics for their favourite songs (including songs not suppported by spotify's native lyrics feature).

The extension uses the lyrics.ovh API to fetch lyrics and displays them in a clean, interactive interface. It includes features like timestamp-based navigation, automatic scrolling, and smart artist/title parsing to improve accuracy.

Some features include:

- Synced lyrics with current song progress

- Automatic scrolling and highlighting of current line

- Smart parsing of artist names and song titles

It is basically identical to spotify lyrics without their click-to-seek feature (if you know how to trace back js function calls please let me know 🥲).
